    Updated burn bans in the tristate area

    HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Local officials have announced new and updated burn bans until further notice.

    Spencer County officials announced a county-wide burn ban in effect as of September 1. This ban will be in effect until further notice.

    Officials say following activities are prohibited:

    • Campfires and other recreational fires
    • Open burning of any kind using conventional fuel
    • Burning of debris
    • Use of burn barrels

    Dubois County EMA Director, Tamara Humbert, confirms a county-wide burn ban is in effect as of Wednesday afternoon. The ban will be reassessed in 7 days.

    On a post made on Facebook, Posey County Emergency Management announced an extension on their county-wide ban until September 17.
