During free agency, the Broncos lost longtime linebacker Josey Jewell to the Carolina Panthers where he reunited with former defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero. In response, the team signed former Seahawks and Commanders linebacker Cody Barton to bolster their linebacker group. They also convinced special teams ace Justin Strnad to re-sign with them after he reportedly agreed to terms with the Panthers and continued to bolster their special teams by signing core special teamer Andre Smith as well.
