QUINNESEC — Gladstone faced off against Iron Mountain and Escanaba faced Kingsford in Little League All-Stars on Friday in Quinnesec. Gladstone beat Iron Mountain 3-1, while Kingsford hammered Escanaba 18-3. Gladstone and Iron Mountain remained scoreless until the fourth inning when Scout Rosinski hit a double to centerfield and Logan Demay followed it up with an RBI single to put Gladstone up 1-0. “It felt really good,” Demay said. “We have practiced a lot for this and we were ready.”

However, she does not mention that not all candidates are “responsible” or at least ethical in their stated party affiliations. Interesting how commissioners Malnar and Viau missed the sentiment and demonstrated little, if any support for their fellow Republican commissioners in vital votes. Party unity?

ESCANABA — At this year’s U.P. State Fair, the Knights of Columbus will assure that fair-goers will have a stress-free parking experience, according to fair organizers. This year, volunteers with the local Knights of Columbus will be guiding fair-goers to parking spaces in the U.P. State Fairgrounds parking lots between the hours of approximately 2 and 8 p.m. to help with traffic flow in the parking lots.
