July fundraisers to support Delta Animal Shelter
ESCANABA, Mich. (WZMQ) – The Delta Animal Shelter is inviting the community to support their four-legged residents at two “fur-raisers” this month. On Saturday, July 13, the shelter will host a three-person scramble at the Highland Golf Club. Registration is $180 per team. The cost also covers donuts, coffee, lunch, and flight prizes. The event will also include silent auctions, raffles, and other activities.
Log rollers return for Fourth of July
GLADSTONE, Mich. (WLUC) - The U.S. Log Rolling Open returns to Gladstone for the sixth consecutive year on the Fourth of July. Thirty men and women will compete head-to-head in two competitions, the log roll and the boom run. Competitors include reigning world Champions Livi Pappadopoulos of Holmen, Wisconsin and Tanner Hallett of Hermosa Beach, California. High schooler and rookie Marcus Heineck is also competing for the $7,200 purse.
