A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting deaths of his wife and four children Thursday in Bibb County.

Police say Brandon Kendrick of West Blocton was charged with five counts of capital murder in connection with the deaths of his 24-year old wife Kelsey Kendrick, a 2-year-old, two 6-year-olds and a 9-year-old.

At around 10 p.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Greentree Drive in West Blocton. Investigators said Kendrick was at the scene where his wife and the four children had been fatally shot, according to officials with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Police say two of the juveniles were Kendrick’s children and the other two were relatives.

Special agents with ALEA's Bureau of investigation assumed control of the investigation.

Kendrick has been booked into the Bibb County Jail, where he is being held without bond.

No further information was made available and the investigation is ongoing.

Once complete, the investigators' findings will be turned over to Alabama’s 4th Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office.
