Caldwell Borough Council Unanimously Approves a Police Director Over Multiple Objections
CALDWELL, NJ -- The Caldwell Borough Council unanimously approved on second reading an ordinance that now legislates that there be a civilian police director who will serve for at least two years and will lead the Caldwell Police Department (CPD) instead of a police chief, which has been the case since 1912. The borough had contracted with The Ambrose Group, LLC (TAG) a consulting firm based in Cedar Grove, to review, assess and make recommendations for the department in 2023. ROSELAND, NJ -- The Borough Council at its July 16 meeting adopted an ordinance appropriating $361,000 for upgrades to Choctaw Way and ADP Boulevard. Verona Council Addresses Downtown Parking
VERONA, NJ - The Verona Common Council passed an ordinance Monday that addressed the need for parking downtown. The Township purchased the Our Lady of the Lake Parking Lot located on Lakeside Avenue. Township leaders say the move was made to generate long-term revenue while also addressing the need for downtown parking. Marlene Simone Celebrated for Over Three Decades of Service to Little Falls
LITTLE FALLS, NJ - The Township of Little Falls has proclaimed July 31 as "Marlene Simone Day" in Little Falls in honor of Marlene Simone, the Deputy Registrar for the Township. This comes after Simone announced her retirement after over 33 years of service. Simone's career with the township began in January 1991, and over the years, she has taken on numerous roles, including DPW Secretary, Recycling Coordinator, Police Department Clerk and Budget Coordinator, Deputy Registrar, and Board of Health Secretary.
