26 dogs rescued from deplorable conditions at Ohio home
HUBBARD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (KDKA) -- More than two dozen dogs were rescued from deplorable conditions at a home in Ohio, an animal shelter said.The Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County said the 26 dogs and their elderly owner were found living in "deplorable conditions." The dogs were brought to the shelter, less than 10 miles across the Pennsylvania border.The rescue happened after humane agents got a tip about a home in Hubbard Township, CBS affiliate WKBN reported. Village Council discusses budget, approves ordinances at July meeting
In attendance at the July 10th Garrettsville Village Council meeting were Councilpersons Deb Wordell, Tom Hardesty, Sheri Johnson, John Chambers, Richard Beatty. Also present were village solicitor William Mason, Mayor Rick Patrick, and Assistant Fiscal Officer Tara Beatty. Police Chief Tim Christopher, Sgt. Tim Vecchio, and Officer Emily Ahrens were also in attendance. Councilman Mark Brady was not present.
King Kennedy Community Center close to completion as construction starts on restrooms
Ravenna’s King Kennedy Community Center is one step closer to becoming what it was always meant to be: a safe gathering place for people of all ages. First erected as a small building in 1978 and enlarged about 20 years later, KKCC gained a gymnasium in 2022. Dollars meant for restrooms and a storage area, however, had to be used for a fire-suppression system.
Local couple invests in Downtown Warren promoting tourism
Keith and Jill Gunther are real estate developers who have flipped many residential properties in the Valley and The Downtown Getaway is their latest project. This newly renovated 2000 square foot flat in the Boyle Building, was built in 1931 by Attorney Boyle for his law offices in Downtown Warren. It was once office space but now offers 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and a recreational space with a pool table.
Local hospital’s 100th anniversary marked by burying of time capsule
The sisters visited the hospital Tuesday to join in on the festivities. It included the unveiling of items, including newspaper articles and other memorabilia found in a 1980s time capsule discovered during St. Joseph Riverside Hospital's demolition in 2022.
