Meadows track record holder Wapiti Blue Chip adds Arden stakes mark
Washington, PA — On Friday (July 26), the eve of the $350,000 final of the Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids, Hollywood Casino at The Meadows staged a pair of Arden Downs Grand Circuit stakes for freshman trotters. As expected, Wapiti Blue Chip was the big star of the show. Already the track record holder for 2-year-old trotting geldings, he added a stakes mark to his ever-expanding résumé.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” Radosevic ofSouthold, New York, on July 23, 2024. The West Virginia native was 92 years old. Don was born in 1931 in Triadelphia to John and Anna Radosevic. The son of a coal miner, he joined the Air Force after graduating from high school, and was ultimately stationed in Japan. As a Staff Sergeant, he supervised the work of 15 airmen of the 548th Reconnaissance Technical Squadron, who were tasked with making the maps that guided pilots during the Korean War.

On July 25th, Doris Rose Plotts went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Doris was born June 5, 1931 in Steubenville, OH, daughter of Howard and Floy Dean Jones. She was a graduate of Wintersville High School, Class of 1949. While in high school, Doris met the love of her life, Donald “Duck” Plotts whom she knew she would marry the first time she saw him. They married on May 17, 1949 and enjoyed 54 years of a marriage exemplary of love, commitment, and laughter. They were blessed with three children, Donnie, Darlene (Perky), and Debbie. Although Doris worked as an office manager for Wintersvile Foodland, she was foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grand mother, and sister.
