Authorities in Northwest Arkansas Respond to Drowning
Authorities in Benton County, Arkansas, respond to reports of a weekend drowning. The Hickory Creek Fire Department responded around 6:30 Saturday evening to the Hickory Creek Day Use Area about 7 miles southeast of Rogers. The victim was recovered from the water around 10:45pm. Olathe-based Terracon announced its acquisition of Arkansas-based Harbor Environmental, Inc., to continue expanding its services to the Southeastern region. Police Catch Car Break-in Suspect in Jonesboro
JONESBORO, Ark. – Authorities tracked down a vehicle break-in suspect last week in Jonesboro. On July 10, 2024, officers from the Jonesboro Police Department were notified of multiple suspects walking through a neighborhood and attempting to open car doors, according to the probable cause affidavit. Professors Samantha Robinson and Kevin Brady have begun their terms as chairs of the Faculty Senate and Campus Faculty, respectively. Robinson has been elected the chair of the Faculty Senate at the U of A for the 2024-25 academic year. Robinson previously served in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences as the director of data science initiatives and in the Department of Mathematical Sciences as vice chair, including serving as the Julia A. Hicks Endowed Professor in Mathematics and as a teaching associate professor. She is now an associate professor in the Center for Agricultural Data Analytics and the School of Human Environmental Sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
