Student left on school bus in North Kingstown
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — North Kingstown School officials are reviewing their procedures after a young child was unintentionally left on the bus. In a letter to parents Tuesday, Superintendent Kenneth Duva said the child was found unattended, but safe, on a minibus on Fairway Drive after a morning run to our district extended school year program.

OCR Resolves Civil Rights Case Against Brown University over Alleged Antisemitism
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced on July 8 that Brown University in Rhode Island has entered into a resolution agreement to ensure compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 with respect to alleged harassment of students based on national origin (including shared Jewish, Palestinian, Arab, and/or Muslim ancestry). A complaint was filed against the university in December 2023 alleging Title VI violations.
