A 98-Year-Old Ice Cream Shop From Chicago Is Opening in Southern California

Rainbow Cone, a 98-year-old ice cream shop from Chicago, is opening three locations in Southern California. The first store is slated to debut later this year in Orange County at 9527 Valley View Street in Cypress. The two other locations will be announced after the leases are signed, a rep tells Eater. Founded in 1926, Rainbow Cone is best known for its stacked ice cream slices that include five flavors perched on a single cone: chocolate, strawberry, Palmer House (vanilla with cherries and walnuts), pistachio, and orange sherbet.
