Man stabbed in West Hollywood

A man was stabbed in or near a West Hollywood nightclub Monday morning but was unable to provide suspect information to Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies.

Deputies were called around 1 a.m. Monday to the 8900 block of Santa Monica Boulevard where they found a man in his mid-30s stabbed in his rib cage, Lt. J. Aguirre of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station told City News Service.

The victim was located outside a nightclub "heavily intoxicated," Aguirre said, making him unable to provide deputies with information about the suspect or what led to the stabbing.

The victim was then sedated at the hospital which made it more difficult for him to talk to deputies, the lieutenant said.

The stabbing remained under investigation, Aguirre said.
