What each Purdue player is rated in new EA Sports College Football 25 video game

INDIANAPOLIS − Kydran Jenkins wants to make one thing clear about the new EA Sports College Football 25 video game.

"The game is kind of fun, but a lot is unrealistic," the Purdue senior linebacker said.

Namely, in Jenkins' case, the individual player ratings for himself aren't to his liking.

Welcome to college football locker rooms nationwide where debates range from who is stronger to who is faster and so on based simply on last week's release of the long-anticipated game a decade in the making.

"Looking at some of those numbers, you can poke and jab different guys like, dude, you're slow," Purdue senior center Gus Hartwig said. "When you're out there, you're not actually that slow, but it's just making jokes and having a good time with it."

Who is the fastest and strongest?

As you'd imagine, EA Sports weighs heavily on skill positions being the fastest players and linemen being the strongest.

CJ Smith, a receiver who transferred from Georgia, is a certified cheat code in the game with a 98 speed rating.

"In the game, I just throw go balls to him," quarterback Hudson Card said.

    'Not real life'

Purdue football coach Ryan Walters is a fan of the game.

When he played safety at Colorado, he was in the game, but only by position and jersey number. The new installment, the franchise's first college football game since NCAA Football 2014, marks the first time players are listed by name.

Walters recalls his overall rating got into the high 80s by his senior season at Colorado in 2008. But, as he had to remind his team, "it's not real life."
