WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) – Unfortunately, Rebekah Wales, a graduate of West Monroe High School and LSU, did not qualify in the javelin throw trials, finishing 13th, just outside the top 12 needed to advance to the final. However, Brandon Green, also known as BJ Green, a graduate of Ruston High School and Oklahoma, did advance to the finals. Green secured the 8th spot in the men’s triple jump and will compete on Sunday. You can catch all the action on Peacock, specifically Green’s event at 5:55 PM on Sunday.

Additionally, a local basketball player recently signed with an NBA team. The Sacramento Kings have signed Isaiah Crawford, a forward from the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, to a two-way deal. Crawford had a standout senior year, averaging 16.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, 2.1 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. Known for his versatile game, Crawford excels in scoring near the rim and has notably improved his three-point shooting. While he continues to develop his playmaking and shot creation abilities, Crawford demonstrates proficiency in the post. Last season, his exceptional performance earned him both Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year honors in Conference USA.
