Authorities identify woman and two grandchildren killed in West Orange fire

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has identified at least one of the victim's of Saturday's fatal house fire in West Orange, and provided the ages of two children consumed by the blaze as well.

Grace Drury, 75, was among the three bodies pronounced dead at the scene after first responders extinguished the fire that ignited in the kitchen of a Liberty Street home, according to a statement the prosecutor's office issued Monday afternoon and a prior report.

Her two grandchildren, ages 3 and 8, were also confirmed dead by Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly, but both of the younger victims were only identified by their matching initials: A.D.

An investigation into the cause of the fire, as well as the three deaths, remains ongoing, according to the announcement.
