WEST ORANGE, NJ – During the recent town council meeting , the new owners of the former Manor spoke about the venue as they requested to transfer the Manor’s liquor license to them. They received the license transfer.

Their attorney, Robert C. Williams, reported, “Both of my clients have extensive experience in catering. They currently operate the Royal Manor in Garfield and the Bethwood [now called The Grand] in Totowa.” He continued, “So we're looking forward to restructuring one of the finest facilities in the state of New Jersey into the Grand Chateau.” He mentioned that they hoped to have a grand opening within “a few short months.”

The new owners shared their plan, “Our goal is to clean up, beautify and renovate and repair the rooms. We're not thinking about extending it right now [beyond] the footprint of the building, [but will be] renovating the building and reviving it.”

Council Member Michelle Casalino said she’s pleased that the Manor will be opening again as a banquet hall. “We were once known as the wedding capital of the state, and hopefully we can get back to that status." She asked, “What about the Dome Room? I know that it was always used as a separate bar/restaurant. Would that be open to the public?”

They responded that they weren’t sure what they'd be doing with that room yet, because they have to do “extensive” repairs to the dome.
