SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A registered sex offender from West Plains, Missouri, was sentenced in federal court Tuesday for possessing several computer-generated images of child sexual abuse.

According to federal courts, 24-year-old Dace Allen Doverspike was sentenced by a U.S. District Judge to 10 years in prison with an additional 15 years of supervised release after his prison sentence ends.

Doverspike pleaded guilty on Aug. 29, 2023, to possessing child sexual abuse images. He had a previous felony conviction for possessing child pornography.

On May 10, 2023, Doverspike’s probation officer took his cell phone during a home visit as part of the conditions of supervised release. The officer found multiple images and videos of pornography, including child pornography which was computer-generated.

The phone was transferred to Homeland Security Investigations for further examination. A task force officer then found 255 computer-generated image files containing depictions of child sexual abuse on a microSD storage device inserted in Doverspike’s phone.

Homeland Security Investigations and the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force investigated the case.
