West Union Town Council Meeting This Evening
West Union Town Council will convene tonight to address several agenda items, notably including personnel matters. The council will receive committee reports from police, fire, roads and streets, maintenance and water, and events. Agenda items for discussion and potential votes include acquiring a maintenance vehicle, deliberating on on-call pay, and considering playground equipment. The meeting will conclude with an executive session to discuss personnel matters, followed by possible actions by the council. The session begins at 6 p.m. at Town Hall, located at 1442 W. Part of Clemson’s Keowee Trail is closed starting today to allow the Fowler Corporation to install storm drainage infrastructure as part of the 412 College Project. The work could take two weeks. To access Abernathy Park, enter from 123; for businesses opposite the road closure, enter from College Avenue.
Zoning switch on Seneca’s Frontage Road
A zoning change will allow a dog day care business to locate on Seneca’s Frontage Road. The city planning commission last night recommended 2.4 acres be changed from PD-U to general commercial. The property owner is Sandell Inc. of Simpsonville and the rezoning applicants are Leigh and Wesley Stephens of Clemson.
