Woman in wheelchair seriously injured after being hit by car in Westborough

A woman in a wheelchair was seriously injured after being hit by a car in Westborough Friday afternoon.

The Westborough Fire Department says the collision occurred at the intersection of Route 9 and Lyman Street around 12:46 p.m.

The woman hit was transported by paramedics to UMass Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries, according to authorities.

It is unclear if the driver of the car is facing any charges.

The crash is under investigation by the Westborough Police Department and the Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council accident reconstruction team
