Uno Pizzeria in Westborough to close for good

WESTBOROUGH — The Uno Pizzeria & Grill on Route 9, in the plaza with the vacant Regal Cinemas building, will close for good Tuesday evening.

The restaurant announced the closing on social media Monday.

"We have enjoyed being a part of this wonderful community and will truly miss the friendships and partnerships we have made," the post reads.

The restaurant, at 225 Turnpike Road, is in a standalone building at the front of Stagecoach Plaza. Red Heat Tavern is in a separate building, as was the cinema complex, vacant since 2017 .

Uno Pizzeria opened in Westborough in 1997, about when the plaza opened.

The closing does not apply to the chain's other restaurants, including one on Major Taylor Boulevard in Worcester.
