Sammy Hagar Shows There’s More Than One Way to Rock in Tampa
Rain rolling in before showtime was not going to ruin Red Rocker Sammy Hagar’s “Best of All Worlds Tour” party at the Mid-Florida Amphitheatre on Sunday night! Unfortunately, on this 2nd show of the tour opening act Loverboy had to be cancelled due to the storm and traffic congestion arriving late at the venue. Sammy waited till 8:45 to hit the stage and the crowd of over 12,000 braved the rain and were ready. Kicking it off with “Good Enough,” from the VH 1986 album “5150”, Sammy and company took it next to 1991’s “Unlawful Carnal Knowledge” with the fan popular “Poundcake.” Joe “Satch” Satriani channeling Eddie Van Halen’s guitar riffs. Satriani is not Eddie Van Halen and he is not trying to be, he is paying tribute & respect to Eddie’s work. Joe has his own style and is one of our best rock guitarists.
