Vanessa was a role model in our community – she was smart, very active in civic life in Hastings and in Greenburgh. She helped motivate others to get involved in government and had a tremendous influence in improving the quality of life for so many people. She was an idealist who also helped many immigrants – individuals that others would never try to help. She was the best of the best—honest, hard working, caring, someone not afraid to speak out.
