Pre-Season High School Volleyball Rankings

(Area) — The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has released its Pre-Season Volleyball Rankings.

In Class 1A, Riverside is ranked #8 — the Bulldogs went 27-11 last season and only lose two seniors this year. Ayla Richardson (636 assists, 96 kills, 143 digs, 39 blocks, 35 aces) returns at Setter, Elly Henderson (207 kills 145 digs, 36 blocks, 21 aces) is back up front, and Sophia Taylor (183 kills, 64 blocks, 19 aces) will give the Bulldogs a dynamic three-punch attack.

In Class 4A, Hawkeye Ten teams Lewis Central and Glenwood are both ranked. The Titans are #7 coming off a 32-3 season and went to the 4A semifinals. Senior Brooke Larsen returns after a big junior season with 303 kills, 230 digs, 45 blocks, and 55 aces. The Rams were 30-11 a year ago and runners up to Lewis Central in the conference and are ranked #8. Glenwood returns Senior Charley Hernandez who had 301 kills, 321 digs, 23 blocks and 49 aces.
