Severe Weather is a Possibility on Thursday

(Des Moines) The National Weather Service says there is a risk of severe weather tomorrow afternoon in portions of west-central, northwest, and north-central Iowa.

Forecasters say a cold front will enter and move through the state Thursday into Thursday night. While there may be a few showers and storms ahead of this front, a more widespread line of thunderstorms may develop along the front later in the afternoon into the night. These storms along the front may be severe, with damaging wind gusts and large hail, the primary hazards in the afternoon into the evening, with storm intensity waning late in the evening.

According to the National Weather Service, the primary threats are damaging winds and large hail.
