Updated: Fatal Plane Crash In Indiana Claims the Lives of Four People From Iowa

(Anderson, Indiana) The four people killed in the September 6 plane crash in Madison County, Indiana, are all from Iowa.

According to the press release, a call came in at 09:50 AM to County Dispatch about a plane down in the 4200 block East 100 South, approximately two miles southeast of the Anderson Airport. Arriving rescue units found a single-engine airplane down and on fire. Additional resources were dispatched, and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The federal authorities, FAA, and NTSB, as well as the County Coroner and additional needed resources, were notified to respond to the incident. Investigators learned that the plane departed Fort Dodge, Iowa, en route to the Anderson Airport, lost altitude, and crashed for some unknown reason.

The Madison County Coroner, Adam Matson, along with members of his team with mutual aid assistance from the Hamelton County Coroner’s Office and Delaware County Coroner’s Office, identified the four victims as:

Joseph R. Scallon, age 68, of Iowa Falls, Iowa

“Owen” James Renaud, age 19, of Alden, Iowa

Jesse H. Ostheimer, age 41, of Alden, Iowa

Braden W. Hicks, age 36, of Manson, Iowa

The crash remains under investigation.
