Leraas breaks single-season strikeout record in Bulldog sweep of Bishop Heelan
The Bulldog softball team saw another record fall on Wednesday night in their doubleheader sweep of Bishop Heelan. Junior pitcher Brenna Leraas struck out 12 hitters in the first game to bring her single-season strikeout total above 241 which was the previous record for the program held by Molly Renken from the 2013 season.

KINGSLEY — The best hitters are always near the top of a batting order. Leadoff batter Leah Conlon was 3-for-3 while Kaedy Junck and Amiyah Drew were each 3-for-5 with a combined five RBIs at the No. 2 and No. 4 spots as Sioux City East posted a 14-8 victory over KP-RV on Monday.
Jays fall at The Birdcage
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Gehlen Catholic baseball team lost 7-3 to Spirit Lake on Monday. The game was played at The Birdcage, home of the Sioux Falls Canaries. “We swung it well. We just hit it right to them,” said Jays coach Loi Kraft. “It was a little windy, I’m not going to blame it on that, but we had a couple balls that got hung up and they were able to play them. Spirit Lake is a good team. We didn’t play bad.”
