Two Organizations Receive Grants from Westfield Fund
The Westfield Fund Advisory Committee recently approved grants totaling $1,830 to be awarded to two Westfield organizations. They include the following:. $1,500 to Every Child Inc. to support their Beds for Kids program, which provides beds to youth to prevent them from foster care placement and also for youth residing in foster care.

Ecklund Calls for State Assistance in Dealing with Issue of Homelessness
The City of Jamestown -- and all of Chautauqua County, for that matter -- is pretty much at capacity in trying to deal with the homeless issue. CCPEG Awarded Grant Funding for Improvements to Westside Overland Trail
The Chautauqua County Partnership for Economic Growth (CCPEG) has been awarded $65,000 from local foundations to make improvements to the Fred J. Cusimano Westside Overland Trail in Brokenstraw and Panama state forests. The funding will also help with trail improvements on sections of private properties south of Titus Road in Sherman. The latest improvements are part of Phase IV of the Chautauqua County Overland Trails Revitalization Project.
CCIDA is Western New York's Top Economic Development Agency for 2023
The County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency was the top ranking economic development agency in Western New York State for 2023. That’s according to Buffalo Business First, which provided a list of the region’s top economic development agencies in its July 12, 2024 issue. According to Business First, it’s the first time the CCIDA has landed in the No. 1 spot (out of seven) on the publication’s ranking of the economic development agencies in Buffalo and Western New York.
WNY P-TECH Students Give Thumbs Up to Robotic Arm Pilot Project
Students who helped pilot an automation program at the WNY P-TECH Academy in Dunkirk gave the first-of-its-kind partnership a big thumbs up. Beginning this year, the juniors learned to program and operate several robotic cells in their Automation Club held every Friday. Instructor Nick Anson has been leading the pilot project, which is part of the Shift 2.0 Robotics program through Buffalo Manufacturing Works.
