Westminster tops RMAC with seven Brechler Awards for academic excellence | Colorado Sunshine

Where good news shines

The RMAC has a bunch of brains.

The RMAC on Monday announced its 2023-24 Brechler awards, given annually to the league’s best team grade-point averages for each of its 22 NCAA-sponsored sports.

Westminster collected seven Brechler Awards with the top GPA in women's basketball, men’s cross country, men’s golf, women’s golf, men’s lacrosse, women’s indoor track and field and women’s outdoor track and field. Westminster’s women’s golf program had the top GPA in the league with a combined 3.840 GPA.

Colorado School of Mines and Western Colorado tied for second with four awards apiece. Regis had three.

The RMAC Brechler Awards are named for Paul W. Brechler, a former RMAC commissioner, and his wife Wanda Brechler, who were the inaugural inductees into the RMAC Hall of Fame.
