DENVER ( KDVR ) — A suspect who allegedly broke into a Westminster apartment on Thursday was arrested.

The Westminster Police Department said in a post on X that officers responded to a burglary in progress at an apartment complex just after 10:30 a.m.

Police report ‘unusual’ trend in small business, home burglaries near Denver

The apartment complex is located in the 4900 block of West 93rd Avenue, which is between McFall Park (formerly known as Westminster Center Park) and the Hyland Hills Golf Course.

The victim told police that the suspect used a golf club to smash the windows and break into their apartment. The suspect then started asking the victim questions “in a threatening manner” before fleeing the scene, according to police.

“Thanks to a quick response by WPD, officers were able to set up a perimeter and used a K-9 to track down the suspect,” Westminster police said.

The suspect was taken into custody on charges of burglary, trespass and criminal mischief.
