One northbound lane closure expected to slow traffic in Downtown Keene Friday morning
KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Drivers with a commute up Main Street in Keene may want to give themselves a little extra time Friday morning. The Keene Public Works Department says one northbound lane, north of Eagle Court, on Main Street in Keene will be closed from 7:00 AM to noon Friday.

Due to current work on New Hampshire Route 119 associated with the project, the eastbound lane shift on NH 119 shortly after traveling over the twin bridges remains active. Signs and barrels are in place to direct travelers through the work zone.

KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – The Keene City Council is poised to advance the final design phase of its downtown infrastructure overhaul, marking a crucial milestone in revitalizing the city. On Thursday, the City Council’s Finance, Organization, and Personnel (FOP) Committee unanimously endorsed City Manager Elizabeth Dragon to negotiate and finalize a design contract with Stantec, an engineering consulting firm, for up to $1.23 million.
Longtime resident launches campaign to promote Keene nationwide
KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – A longtime Keene resident has launched a campaign to promote the city of Keene far and wide. Fred Parsells, a guest on today’s Good Morning with Dan Mitchell show on WKBK, is proud of his “adopted” hometown where he’s lived here for 51 years and raised his family. He worked for many years in Keene as a police officer and he was also a city councilor.

COVID-19 levels surge in Keene’s wastewater amid statewide monitoring efforts
KEENE, N.H. (MyKeeneNow) – Recent findings indicate that the Keene wastewater treatment facility is registering some of the highest COVID-19 concentrations in New Hampshire. This development mirrors a national trend, as over half of U.S. states are detecting increased virus levels in wastewater, per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The N.H. Department of Health and Human Services launched a wastewater monitoring program in late 2022, encompassing 14 treatment facilities across the state, including Keene, to provide early warnings of potential COVID-19 surges.
