Collin County officers honored for lifesaving actions
MCKINNEY, Texas — The Collin County Sheriff's Office has recognized several officers for their heroic actions in saving lives during recent incidents. On April 14, 2024, Detention Officer Smith discovered an inmate attempting suicide in the housing pod. Acting swiftly, Officer Smith removed the ligature and administered first aid, saving the inmate's life. For her heroic actions, Officer Smith received the Collin County Lifesaving Award, according to a press release from the Collin County Sheriff's Office.
McKinney man charged with murder in 2022 fatal shooting
MCKINNEY, Texas — Dylon Reanard Adams, a 22-year-old from McKinney, has been charged with murder in connection to a 2022 fatal shooting at 8433 Hearth Drive. Adams was arrested during a traffic stop in a coordinated effort by the McKinney Police Department and the South Gessner Crime Suppression Team, according to a press release from the McKinney Police Department. The operation took place while the team was in the city to assist with public safety efforts following Hurricane Beryl.
