Suspect threatened Kansas deputies with AR-style rifle
SHAWNEE COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects on multiple allegations after a standoff. On July 18, a deputy with the Shawnee County Sheriff’s Office located a subject with an active felony standing in the driveway of a residence in the 2800 BLK SW Indian Hills Road, according to Shawnee County Sheriff' s Lt. A Topeka man was taken into custody on suspicion of drug possession in Osage County Saturday. According to Osage County Sheriff Chris Wells, an Osage County Deputy initiated a traffic stop at 1:35 pm Saturday for an alleged traffic violation at the intersection of US Highway 56 and South Topeka Avenue. During a search of the suspect vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Aaron M. Griffith of Topeka, illegal narcotics were allegedly located.
