Weston Theater Company still hopes to reopen playhouse after flooding, but the future is unclear
When the rain last summer caused widespread flooding in Weston, the Weston Playhouse took on more water than it did during Tropical Storm Irene. A full year after the flooding, not only is the Weston Theater Company not yet back in their 300-seat theater, but the future is still uncertain.
Divided Sky Fun(d) Run a success
LUDLOW, Vt. – The Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program would like to thank all the supporters of the annual Divided Sky Fun(d) Run. The third annual Divided Sky Fun(d) Run, held in May, was a morning filled with fitness and community spirit. Proceeds from the event support the Divided Sky Foundation, and the Turning Point centers of Springfield and Rutland, Vt.
Artistic quilt exhibit on display at Fletcher Farm School for the Arts and Crafts
LUDLOW, Vt. – Susan Damone Balch’s unique quilting is on display in the new Meadowview Gallery. Come visit the open reception on Thursday, July 11, from 6-7 p.m. The current exhibit shows work with a log cabin theme. Starting with a square, strips are added to form patterns in a free-form style.
VINE Sanctuary’s Pasture Pals
SPRINGFIELD, Vt. – Did you know that chickens are dinosaurs? That cows create families? Or that goats can help you make art? Kids will learn all of that, even experience art with goats, at VINE’s Pasture Pals, a free, fun, and humane education program designed for elementary school children. It’s the perfect summer activity for animal-loving kids.
Friends of the Fletcher Memorial Library book sale
LUDLOW, Vt. – Fletcher Memorial Library is pleased to announce the Friends 2.0 Book Sale 2024. The book sale dates will be Aug. 16 and 17, with exact times to be determined. We have secured the tables (thanks Vail), tents (thanks Celebration Rentals), dumpster (thanks A.B.L.E. Waste Management), and the take-away of sale remainders for a new home (thanks J’s Books & More). Our annual sale would not be possible without all of you.
