The Green Mountain Care Board (GMCB) approved the University of Vermont Medical Center’s application for a Certificate of Need (CON) to develop a multi-specialty outpatient surgery center in South Burlington. The 3-2 decision supports GMCB’s goal to expand access to high-quality surgical care on Tilley Drive in South Burlington. BETHEL — A single-vehicle rollover crash involving a tractor trailer on VT RT 107 resulted in severe injuries for a 48-year-old Hardwick man early Tuesday morning. Chad Trudeau was negotiating a right turn near the intersection of North Road at speeds exceeding the posted limit when his 2007 Mack truck tractor began to overturn.

BARNARD—BarnArts Summer Youth Theater kicked off on July 15 to produce the lively full-length production of “High School Musical”in just three weeks. The show opens at Barnard Town Hall on Friday, Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. with performances continuing Saturday, Aug. 3 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. with original costuming, set, choreography, and a live band. Plattsburgh man jailed after Stonehelm fight
BEEKMANTOWN | A Plattsburgh man is facing a number of charges after a confrontation at the Stonehelm Motel grew violent and ended with damage to a police cruiser. New York State Police were called to the Spellman Road motel at about 8:30 p.m. July 30 after Lee A. Goodrow, 42, allegedly got into a verbal argument that turned physical. Goodrow reportedly refused to leave the property following the attack. When eventually placed under arrest, Goodrow reportedly unbuckled his seat belt and refused to comply with responding troopers’ commands. While being combative and aggressive toward officers, police said, Goodrow then damaged items inside the parol vehicle.
