The Carroll City Council will convene for a brief special meeting this (Wednesday) afternoon to facilitate a public/private partnership to improve an alleyway in downtown. A group of local investors, Court Street LLC, is currently working to complete extensive renovations at the historic Anne-Mar building east of the Carroll County Courthouse. Those renovations include improvements to the apartment building’s parking lot. Court Street LLC has requested the council pave the city-owned alley near the building at an estimated cost of about $30,000. The issue was briefly mentioned at the council’s meeting Monday night, but open meeting laws prevented the council from taking formal action. The council convenes at 4 p.m. this (Wednesday) afternoon at Carroll City Hall with the paving project as the only item on the agenda. The agenda and links to the city’s video live-stream are included below.
