Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville New CEO
Estherville IA, (Northwest Iowa Now) –Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville has a new CEO. Michelle Majerus was recently named the new CEO. Regional President and CEO of Avera McKennan Hospital Dr. Ron Place, says that “The Avera Holy Family Hospital Board and I are excited to welcome Michelle Majerus and look forward to the leadership she will provide to our health care ministry.”
House built by Sioux City student goes to South Dakota flood victims
(Radio Iowa) – A South Dakota couple who lost their home in this year’s flooding are getting a replacement built by Sioux City High School students. Dave and Judy Oberg put in the winning bid on the house and finally got it Wednesday after a two-month wait. “Well, we lost everything in the flood, lost our home that we’ve had for 50 years, and we got a phone call saying this house was available. We put a bid in on it. Won the bid, and here we are today,” Judy says. “Yeah, we drove down the day that we got the phone call, or the next day, I guess, they said they could open up the building, and we came down take a look at it, and we walked into the house and just loved to lay out and loved everything about it,” Dave says.
Sioux Center Christian plans to hire SRO
SIOUX CENTER—The application will soon be available for a second school resource officer position in Sioux Center. This role would be dedicated to Sioux Center Christian School with current SRO Kyle Munneke focusing on the Sioux Center School District. Both would work together to make sure programs and any investigations work smoothly as well as be part of the regular patrol with the Sioux Center Police Department during the summer months.

FDA assigns risk level to items in Palmer Candy recall
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has put a risk classification on items that were recalled earlier this year. On May 6, the FDA and Palmer Candy issued a recall for items with white-coated confectionary. The Sioux City-based company says the recall is due to the potential of contamination with Salmonella.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says a small area of Eurasian watermilfoil was originally found during fall 2023 east of the McIntosh Beach.
