Former Westwego police officer arrested in $100,000 vehicle inspection scam
State Police arrested a former Westwego police officer accused in a scheme to perform unauthorized vehicle inspections for money. Leroy Victoriano Jr., 59, surrendered himself at the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center in Gretna Friday and was booked with malfeasance in office, theft valued over $25,000, money laundering and filing false public records, State Police said.

NEW ORLEANS — New Orleans Police are asking for the public's assistance with locating a suspect wanted for simple robbery and attempted robbery. Wanted is Carey Lewis Tanks. A judge sentenced a New Orleans man this week to more than 12 years in federal prison after a jury convicted him of carjacking an 80-year-old woman at gunpoint in 2022.
