You can swim for free at these New York pools this summer
If you're a frequenter of the city's and state's many public swimming pools, you're by now familiar with the $2 entry fee that most of them ask for. That's, however, changing this summer: Governor Kathy Hochul just announced that the state is completely waiving entry fees at 14 state parks for the rest of the season. The list includes two public pools located in New York City: Roberto Clemente State Park Pool in the Bronx and the Riverbank State Park Pools in Manhattan.

Glen Rock basketball court, site of shooting, reopened as borough weighs options
The Wilde Memorial Park basketball court in Glen Rock, the site of a shooting on May 21, reopened last week as the town considers all future options for the site. The borough has set up a special task force to observe and detail how much the court gets used. Once the task force finishes gathering the data, "we will have the necessary information to make the best decision moving forward,” the borough said in a statement posted on its Facebook page.

BRONX, N.Y. – Graduate student Sophia Ryan and fifth-year senior Ryan Guerci were the top Binghamton finishers, highlighting the cross country teams' performances at the season-ending NCAA Northeast Regional Meet on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Former Wisconsin volleyball assistant Angel Agu joined Columbia University as its newest assistant coach on June 28. Agu, a former four-year volleyball player at the University of Dayton, served as a volunteer assistant coach in Madison from 2018-19. In Memoriam: FDU Mourns the Passing of Two-Sport Standout Donald Margolin
Hackensack, N.J. – FDU is saddened to hear of the passing of Donald Margolin ('57). Margolin, a 2016 FDU Hall of Fame Inductee, passed away on July 1, 2024. He was 88. Margolin played both men's basketball and baseball in his time as a Knight and shined in both. He is a member of both baseball's and men's basketball's All-Decade team for the 1950s. In 1957, Margolin averaged 19.8 points per game on the hardwood and was named to the New Jersey College All-Star Team.
