Suspicious death under investigation at Motel 6 in Wethersfield

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — State and local officials are investigating a suspicious death after a deceased male was found in a motel this morning in Wethersfield.

At 5:53 a.m. an individual at Motel 6 located at 1341 Silas Deane Highway called the Wethersfield Police Department to report a deceased male.

Police reported to room 168 of the motel and located the deceased male. The identity of the male is being withheld at this time as officials contact next of kin.

Wethersfield’s Detective Division, state police’s Central District Major Crime Squad, and the New Britain State’s Attorney Office were called to assist in the investigation after “suspicious circumstances” were found.

This investigation is active and ongoing. Authorities say this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
