Southeast Steuben County Library to hold spring book sale

CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) — It’s almost time to replenish your to-be-read pile at the Friends of the Southeast Steuben County Library’s spring book sale.

This year, the library friends are holding their spring book sale from Saturday, April 13, through Saturday, 20, at the Corning Fire Hall, located at 11873 East Corning Road. Each day will have more discounts than the previous day, and inventory will be refreshed multiple times a day.

The book sale will start out with a members -only day. Library members will get a chance to shop the sale before the public from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 13. If you’re interested in checking out the sale before everyone else and supporting the library, you can sign up to be a Friend of the Library at the book sale’s door. An individual membership costs $5 per year, and a family membership costs $10 per year.

The sale officially opens to the public on April 14. The sale will run from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the final Saturday of the sale. Visitors will be able to fill up a box or bag for a set price on the last day, and teachers and non-profits can get free books on the last day.

The library friends currently have a number of large print books available. Organizations that would benefit from having books with larger print should email Nancy Doutt at wdoutt@stny.rr.com for more information. Teachers and non-profit employees looking to take full advantage of the opportunity to get free books on the final day of the sale should email Doutt as well.
