Canton and Troy football earn big wins, NTL scoreboard

TROY, P.A. (WETM) – High School Football made it’s return to the Northern Tier.

Troy, Canton, Towanda, and Wyalusing each picked up wins to open football season in the NTL, on Friday. Troy picked up the most impressive win, fending off an early charge from a rejuvenated Sayre team 84-12. Elsewhere, the Canton Warriors cruised to a 42-6 road victory against Northwest Area. Additionally, Wyalusing topped North Penn-Mansfield and Towanda bested Cowanesque Valley, joining Troy with home opener wins.

Towanda 24 – Cowanesque Valley 6
Wyalusing 37 – North Penn-Mansfield 12
South Williamsport 26 – Athens 13
