CORNING, N.Y. ( WETM ) – Two pot shops that were located in the City of Corning were shut down last week following an investigation into the sale of unlicensed cannabis.

According to Corning City Police, members of the Corning City Police Department, New York State Police and New York State Office of Cannabis Management conducted search warrants on Mosa’s on 31 Market Street and Gas City Glass on 110 Bridge Street as part of the investigation into the sales.

Upon execution of the search warrants, both businesses were found to be selling unlicensed cannabis without the proper New York State licenses.

As a result, a large amount of flower cannabis, edibles and concentrates were confiscated from the location, as well as money and business ledgers. Both stores have been ordered to remain closed by the Office of Cannabis Management and are subject to civil penalties and fines if operation continues.

The Corning City Police Department states that it will continue to investigate the sale of unlicensed cannabis by businesses within the city in the future.
