HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A Hillsborough County deputy was arrested after he allegedly recorded victims in the bathroom of his home, the sheriff’s office said.

Justin DiBiase, 26, a deputy in the DUI Unit hired in March 2021, has been investigated by the Tampa Police Department since May following a cyber tip.

DiBiase reportedly had a camera placed in the bathroom, pointing towards the toilet and shower. The video voyeurism took place in June 2021.

Detectives said the explicit videos were of two victims.

On Thursday, the now-former deputy turned himself in at the Orient Road Jail following a warrant for his arrest.

“I am disgusted and deeply disappointed by the actions of this individual. This is not only a violation of trust towards the victims but also a profound betrayal of the badge,” Sheriff Chad Chronister said. “Deputies are sworn to protect and serve our community, but behind closed doors, he was a criminal himself. We hold our deputies to the highest standards, and when one falls so far from those standards, it is our duty to ensure they face the full weight of their consequences.”

DiBiase was taken into custody and charged with three counts of video voyeurism.
