TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three suspects in the murder of Florida rapper Julio Foolio pleaded not guilty in a Monday hearing.

The suspects — Sean Gathright, Isaiah Chance, and Alicia Andrews — appeared in a Hillsborough County courtroom for an arraignment hearing on Monday.

A fourth subject, Rashad Murphy, will have an arraignment hearing next month after he is transferred from another county where he is incarcerated, according to the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, 13th Judicial Circuit.

A fifth suspect, Davion Murphy, is still at large.

Ken Jefferson is a crime and safety expert with First Coast News in Jacksonville. He shed light on if police can use the three suspects in court Monday to help bring in Davion.

“Sometimes they’ll cooperate. But, you know, gang members are tough cookies. You know they’ll do some time and come out and get and take it as a badge of honor,” Jefferson said.

Foolio was killed in June during a shooting at a Tampa Holiday Inn.

The shooting took place just before 5 a.m. when multiple assailants were caught on surveillance video approaching the vehicle the Florida rapper was inside. Shots were fired, and the vehicle sped off, but Foolio, whose legal name is Charles Jones, was pronounced dead following the shooting.

Gathright, Chance, and Andrews — who allegedly planned the murder of Jones with Davion and Rashad Murphy — were arrested in Jacksonville in late July and charged with premeditated first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Jefferson said agencies across the state and elsewhere have eyes out for Davion.

“Without a gang, he’s nothing. He’s just an individual, and he’s on the run, so he is scared,” Jefferson said. “He’s scared because he knows that everybody in the world basically is looking for him. They know what he looks like, so he has to lay low.”
