    Day 2 of the Chicago Air and Water Show set up for a spectacular day on the lakefront

    CHICAGO — Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to pack Chicago’s lakefront Sunday for the second and final day of the Air and Water Show.

    After picture-perfect weather for Saturday’s first day, more of the same is forecast for Sunday .

    The show resumes at 10:30 a.m. The event’s grand finale, which usually features the US Navy’s Blue Angels , is scheduled to start around 2 p.m., before the show concludes at 3.

    Here’s what to expect from the highly-anticipated festival, known for daredevil displays of aerobatic engines in the sky:

    Headliners include the Blue Angels and the the US Army’s Golden Knights Parachute Team , while new acts include Stunt pilot RJ Gritter, who will be flying his acrobatic decathlon aboard a Cessna 150. Meanwhile, the Trojan Phylers will also display their historical North American aviation company aboard T-28B aircraft.

    On Saturday, two B-1’s came in during the early afternoon to give the crowd a special treat.

    With a star-studded list of pilots on deck, Sunday’s weather looks just about the same as Saturday’s. Temperatures will reach the upper 70s by midday, with blue skies and limited clouds, making conditions just about perfect for those performing.

    “These are absolutely perfect conditions. What better’s better than 75 and sunny?” said Ann Hickey, Chicago Deputy Commissioner of Operations. “We’ll hope it stays this way all day.”
