CHICAGO — Police have arrested a woman sought in the deadly hit-and-run in Will County that claimed the life of a married couple.

Last month, authorities issued an arrest warrant for 35-year-old Mary Beth Mosqueda, who was charged with two counts of failure to report an accident involving personal injury or death following the March 9 incident.

Mosqueda had remained on the run since, but county jail records show she was booked on Wednesday, Sept. 4. She was due to appear in court on Thursday.

According to Crest Hill police, officers responded to the late-night scene in the 2100 block of Plainfield Road and found two victims with severe injuries. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Will County Coroner identified the victims as Laurie Cooper, 53, and Danny Cooper, 68, both of Plainfield.

The couple had recently returned to the area and visited friends at a bar before the deadly collision.
