Rifle Range in NWLA open to the public on these dates

PLAIN DEALING, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – Bossier Parish Sheriff Julian Whittington is opening the sheriff’s office rifle range for three weekends in September so hunters can sight-in their hunting rifles.

The range will be open Sept. 14, Sept. 21, and Sept. 28 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The firing range has 12 shooting targets set up at 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards. Shooters may also bring paper targets.

“I am pleased to offer this service to our residents so they can sight in their rifles at our range in a safe environment,” said Whittington.

Hunters need to bring rifles and ammunition with them to the range.

The rifle range is located on Old Plain Dealing Road, 12 miles from Benton. Look for it in the Bossier Sheriff app under the resource map tab.

No registration is required.
