Krewe of Cleopatra makes changes to Uptown route for 2025 roll

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A change is coming to the Uptown route of one of Mardi Gras’ all-female krewes in 2025.

A member of the Krewe of Cleopatra confirmed that the parade will no longer start at the corner of Magazine Street and Jefferson Avenue. It will now begin at the corner of Tchoupitoulas Street and Napoleon Avenue.

Krewe members say the change was made due to the floats getting stuck in the trees in previous years.

Just two years prior, krewe officials expressed their excitement to return to their original route , saying that they wanted to give people the chance to return to their traditional spots.

Cleopatra is set to parade on Feb. 21, 2025 following the Krewe of Oshun.
