In the heart of downtown Colorado Springs, Skirted Heifer is pushing forward to reopen following a cat crashing into the building. The eatery, located at 204 N Tejon St, is unsure of an exact return date, however, according to The Gazette.

The collision demolished the restaurant’s sidewalk patio, front window, tables, and a 130-year-old brick wall, and also prompted concerns about potential structural damage. Owner Kevin Megyeri has started a GoFundMe campaign to cover temporary lost wages for his dozen and a half employees.

The beloved hamburger joint is renowned for its mouthwatering extra “skirt” of cheddar cheese on its grass-fed burgers. It was established in 2014 and skyrocketed in popularity after it was featured on Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” with Guy Fieri.

It’s a generational business, started by his mother and passed on to him. His family also founded and operates Bambino’s Urban Pizzeria, which is also located downtown right around the corner.
