McDonald’s national expansion plan continues throughout the United States, with a handful of remodels coming to the greater Jacksonville area and a new location coming to Crescent City at 896 N. Summit St.

The company’s newest location is set to be built on a vacant plot of land across from the Green Dragon Dispensary Crescent City, according to a plan review application approved at the beginning of the month. MTLM INC. , a local McDonald’s franchise owner with other sites around northeast Florida, will be opening this location. Considering that this new McDonald’s will be built from the ground up, it’s likely that this site won’t be open until sometime next year .

This is just one of many new or redeveloped locations coming soon to northeast Florida. Also in Putnam County, McDonald’s in East Palatka at 168 S US HWY #17 was approved earlier this month by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation for a remodel. In Jacksonville , the company was approved for new construction at 11371 Normandy Blvd . It’s unclear who the franchise owner of this location will be, but it will also open sometime next year.

These new locations are all a part of the company’s overall plan to target a 50,000-unit global footprint by 2027, according to Nation’s Restaurant News . That goal includes about 900 new restaurants in the U.S. in the next four years and 1,000 in the next five. McDonald’s finished last year with just under 13,500 U.S. locations. Internationally, the company plans to open more than 200 restaurants across the U.K. and Ireland over the next four years.
